While personal gift-giving to near and dear ones is a long-standing practice, few people are aware of the tradition of giving corporate gifts. The rising business practice of giving special gifts to clients is not known to people as the gifts given by people to loved ones. Corporate gifts are very unique in that they grow customer and brand loyalty often for a very small price. After all everyone loves to receive a gift.
These gifts are expensive things and they normally do not have any contribution in promoting the offerings of the company, which means that they do not bear any reference to the company. On the other hand, various gift items are often given away for marketing purposes, for example, stationery objects, storage devices, or books. In such cases, the gifts are often marked with the company’s logo before they are distributed to employees or potential clients.
While giving a corporate gift, it is important to keep in mind the interests of the individual to whom the gift is being given, and to customize it accordingly. Corporate gifts should always be chosen with the recipient in mind. There’s no point giving a gift – particularly a corporate gift – to someone who will not value what we have gifted. We should be seeking to create a ‘WOW’ whenever possible.
